In the pursuit, they discovered substantial variability in cut resistance among 220+ fabric samples. Most competitors' fabrics lasted only 5cm to 27cm against ski cuts, while only five out of 220 resisted cutting completely. They meticulously re-engineered one fabric from this small number to create VIX, tailored for ski racers' specific needs.
