Historically it has been the responsibility of the athlete to send their race suit to a National Association to test for porosity and FIS compliance. A little metal tag called a "plomb" was attached to the leg of the suit after passing the test. A new marking method will now be used in the form of a printed logo on the back of the leg of approved suits.
ALL suits must now have a FIS logo printed on the back of the left leg. Race suits with a plomb will no longer be acceptable at FIS races. See SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALPINE COMPETITION EQUIPMENT for full details.
Note: FIS Race Suit Rules only apply to U19 Athletes (16 years of age) and up. Required for World Cup, Europa Cup, World Junior Championships, and NorAm Series. NOT required for Entry League FIS races or U-FIS (Junior) races.
