The back protector must adapt to the anatomical bend of the athlete's spine and lie flat against the body. The top edge of the back protector must be situated in the area of the spinal column and may not go above the 7th cervical vertebrae (C7). The maximum thickness must be in the middle part and may not exceed 45 mm; the thickness reduces at the edges of the back protector. Designs with the view to improve aerodynamic properties are forbidden. The back protector must be worn underneath the competition suit.

HexaFlow™ 3D Structure

SHRED's three-dimensional hexagonal protector structure is engineered to balance impact performance, ventilation, flexibility, and low weight. The open structure helps reduce bulk while allowing airflow through the protector.

Precision Vest Fit

The super-stretch nylon vest holds the protector close to the body while maintaining freedom of movement. A YKK® front zipper makes the vest easy to put on and remove, while dual Velcro side adjustments allow you to fine-tune the fit.

EN 1621-2 Level 1 Protection

The back protector is certified to EN 1621-2 Level 1 for full-back protection. SHRED also tests the protector at -10°C to verify protective performance in cold conditions appropriate for winter sports use.
