Description & Features

Swix PRO High Speed (HS) Wax is a fluoro-free glide wax line developed for race training, competition, and high-performance ski preparation. HS waxes offer strong glide and durability across a wide range of winter conditions and can be used either as a standalone race wax or as a base layer beneath a top coat. The line follows Swix's familiar color and number system, making it easy to select the right wax for temperature and snow conditions.

From the hard, cold-snow HS05 to the warm-condition HS10, each formula is tuned for a specific temperature window and use case. HS06 and HS07 are versatile choices for typical winter racing, while HS08 and HS10 work well for warmer training, base preparation, and spring conditions. Swix PRO High Speed waxes use updated raw materials as part of Swix's fluoro-free racing glide system and are designed for both competitive racing and performance-oriented training.

Key Features

Wax Formulation & Performance

HS05 Turquoise – Cold Conditions

HS05 is the hardest wax in the High Speed range and is designed for cold snow from 0°F to 14°F (-18°C to -10°C). It combines strong durability with low dry friction and is suitable for fresh, old, or man-made snow. Its melting characteristics make it easier to apply than many traditional very-cold waxes while maintaining reliable glide.

HS06 Blue – Versatile Cold Wax

HS06 covers 10°F to 21°F (-12°C to -6°C) and is one of the most versatile formulas in the HS line. It can be used as a standalone race wax, as an underlayer for powder top coats, or as a base-preparation wax for cold-condition skis. The durable formula performs well on both natural and artificial snow.

HS07 Violet – Normal Winter Conditions

HS07 is optimized for 18°F to 28°F (-8°C to -2°C), making it a strong choice for typical winter race and training conditions below freezing. Its hardness makes it easy to work with and finish cleanly, while its glide properties make it useful as a race wax in lower humidity and as a dependable training wax.

HS08 Red – Near-Freezing Versatility

HS08 works from 25°F to 39°F (-4°C to +4°C) and is well suited to base preparation and regular training in milder winter conditions. It can also serve as a race wax, particularly when used as the base layer beneath a condition-specific top coat. The softer formulation melts easily and is convenient for frequent race-room use.

HS10 Yellow – Warm & Spring Conditions

HS10 is designed for warm snow from 32°F to 50°F (0°C to +10°C). It is particularly useful as a training and base-preparation wax during warm-weather or spring skiing, when softer waxes are better matched to the snow temperature.

Fluoro-Free Formula & Packaging Update

Swix PRO High Speed waxes remain fluoro-free. Swix is gradually updating its packaging, so graphics may vary slightly from the images shown, and some newer labels no longer display the fluoro-free icon even though the current wax remains fluoro-free.
