Description & Features

Swix DH World Cup Wax is a dedicated alpine speed racing glide wax developed for the extreme speeds, sustained acceleration, high pressure, and long gliding sections of Downhill and Super-G. The DH World Cup series is formulated to maintain consistent friction properties at race speed while helping protect the ski base from base burn during hard, high-pressure turns. Three formulations let technicians match the wax to temperature, humidity, and snow conditions.

Choose DH6 for cold conditions from 10°F to 23°F (-12°C to -5°C), DH7 for colder, humid conditions from 18°F to 28°F (-8°C to -2°C), or DH7B for the same temperature range when snow is dirty, abrasive, or aggressive. Each formula uses a specialized blend designed for smooth hot-wax application, durability, and stable glide at the high speeds encountered in alpine speed events.

Wax Formulation & Performance

DH6 World Cup – Cold Conditions

DH6 combines an exclusive paraffin and synthetic wax blend for alpine racing from 10°F to 23°F (-12°C to -5°C). Developed for all snow types within its temperature range, the formula maintains reliable friction properties at extreme speeds while providing a stable, durable base layer. Its formulation also helps protect against base burn during demanding, high-pressure turns. Apply with an iron temperature of at least 293°F (145°C).

DH7 World Cup – Cold & Humid Conditions

DH7 is formulated for cold, humid racing conditions from 18°F to 28°F (-8°C to -2°C). A silicone-based hydrophobic additive improves water repellency, while a polyethylene hardener increases durability and wax absorption. The balance of hardness and elasticity supports smooth application while maintaining stable friction properties at the speeds and pressures encountered in Downhill and Super-G. Apply with an iron temperature of at least 284°F (140°C).

DH7B World Cup – Dirty & Abrasive Snow

DH7B targets humid, dirty, and abrasive snow from 18°F to 28°F (-8°C to -2°C). Its black tungsten additive increases durability and reduces friction in contaminated or aggressive snow, while a silicone-based hydrophobic additive minimizes water suction. A polyethylene hardener improves wax absorption and wear resistance, helping maintain performance at speeds exceeding 100 km/h and protecting the base in high-pressure turns. Apply with an iron temperature of at least 284°F (140°C).
