Description & Features
Swix PRO High Speed Liquid (HSL) Wax is a fluoro-free spray-on glide wax developed for fast, convenient race and training preparation. Created with input from the Swix World Cup Service Team, the HSL series combines easy application with durable glide and can be used as a standalone race wax or as a base for top coats. Four temperature-specific formulas cover conditions from cold winter snow through wet spring skiing.
Liquid application makes Swix PRO High Speed Liquid Wax a practical alternative when there is not enough time for a full hot-wax cycle, including race-day preparation and between-run adjustments. HS06L targets colder snow, HS07L covers typical below-freezing winter conditions, HS08L provides broad versatility around freezing, and HS10L is designed for wet, transformed spring snow. Regular hot waxing is still recommended to condition and protect the ski base, particularly on new or freshly ground skis.

Wax Formulation & Performance
HS06L Blue – Cold Conditions
HS06L is developed for colder snow from 10°F to 25°F (-12°C to -4°C). It performs across a range of snow conditions but is particularly effective when humidity is high. For temperatures colder than its recommended range, Swix notes that traditional solid paraffin waxes generally outperform liquid formulations.
HS07L Violet – Winter Conditions
HS07L covers 18°F to 28°F (-8°C to -2°C) and is designed for typical winter conditions below freezing. It handles a variety of snow types without being particularly sensitive to humidity, making it a dependable liquid choice across its core temperature range.
HS08L Red – Around Freezing
HS08L is a versatile formula for 25°F to 39°F (-4°C to +4°C), covering conditions on both sides of freezing. It performs in older snow below freezing as well as new falling snow above freezing, making it particularly useful when temperatures and snow characteristics change during a race or training day.
HS10L Yellow – Wet & Transformed Snow
HS10L is designed for 32°F to 50°F (0°C to +10°C) and very wet, transformed snow. It is particularly suited to warm spring conditions where snow contamination can be high and is formulated to collect less dirt from the snow than comparable paraffin waxes.
Liquid Wax & Regular Hot Waxing
HSL spray-on wax provides a quick alternative to a traditional hot-wax cycle, but it does not eliminate the need for regular hot waxing. Hot wax skis periodically to maintain base conditioning, particularly when preparing new skis or skis that have recently been stone ground.
Fluoro-Free Formula & Packaging Update
Swix PRO High Speed Liquid waxes remain fluoro-free. Swix is gradually updating its packaging, so graphics may vary slightly from the images shown, and some newer labels no longer display the fluoro-free icon even though the current wax remains fluoro-free.
