Race Place Catalog Cover Contest – Official Terms & Conditions

1. Contest Overview

The Race Place Catalog Cover Contest invites eligible participants to submit original ski racing photographs for consideration as the front or back cover of an upcoming Race Place catalog.

Participants must submit the official Race Place Catalog Cover Contest Entry Form through the designated online submission form and provide qualifying photographs before the entry deadline of September 30.

Winning images may be featured on the Race Place catalog cover and used in Race Place marketing materials.

Winners are expected to be announced around October 20.

2. Eligibility

The contest is open to individuals who meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a resident of the United States
  • Must be 14 years of age or older at the time of entry
  • If the entrant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent
  • Athlete must be in good academic standing if currently enrolled in school
  • Athlete must appear in a photograph where they are using or wearing equipment sold by Race Place, including but not limited to skis, race suits, helmets, goggles, poles, gloves, or related ski racing equipment

Race Place employees, affiliates, and immediate family members may be excluded from eligibility at the discretion of Race Place.

This contest is void where prohibited by law.

3. Entry Requirements

Participants must submit the official Race Place Catalog Cover Contest Entry Form through the online submission form and upload photographs that meet the following criteria:

Photo Requirements

  • A dynamic ski racing action photograph
  • The athlete must be wearing or using equipment sold by Race Place
  • Minimum image size of 8.5" × 8.5" at 300 PPI (2550 × 2550 pixels)
  • Images must be high resolution and suitable for print reproduction
  • Acceptable file formats: JPG, JPEG, or PNG

Participants may submit multiple images with each entry, subject to the file limits established in the online form.

Athlete Statement

Entries must include a written statement from the athlete describing why they should win the contest and outlining ski racing accomplishments from recent seasons.

Entries must be received no later than September 30 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Race Place is not responsible for technical failures, upload errors, internet issues, or incomplete submissions.

4. Entry Method

Entries will be accepted only through the official online contest submission form.

Entries submitted by email, mail, social media, or any other method will not be accepted.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that their submission is fully completed before the deadline.

5. Photo Ownership and Usage Rights

By submitting an entry, the participant represents and warrants that:

  • The photograph is original or submitted with permission from the photographer
  • The participant has the legal right to grant usage rights for the image

By entering the contest, participants grant Race Place, Inc. a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use submitted photographs for purposes including:

  • Catalog publication
  • Marketing and promotional materials
  • Website content
  • Social media
  • Advertising and promotional campaigns

Entrants retain copyright ownership of their photographs.

Race Place will make reasonable efforts to credit the photographer and athlete when possible, but credit cannot be guaranteed in all uses.

6. Judging and Selection

Entries will be reviewed by representatives of Race Place and judged based on criteria including:

  • Visual impact and action
  • Technical image quality
  • Representation of ski racing
  • Visibility of equipment sold by Race Place
  • Overall suitability for catalog cover design

All decisions made by Race Place are final and binding.

Race Place reserves the right not to select a winner if entries do not meet contest standards.

7. Prizes

Two winners will be selected:

Front Cover Winner
Prize: $3,000 Race Place Gift Certificate

Back Cover Winner
Prize: $1,500 Race Place Gift Certificate

Prize conditions:

  • Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Certificates may be used only toward Race Place retail merchandise or services
  • Products will be redeemed at original Race Place retail pricing

Race Place reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value if necessary.

8. Taxes

Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize.

If required by United States Internal Revenue Service regulations, Race Place may issue a Form 1099-MISC for prizes valued at $600 or more.

Winners may be required to provide appropriate tax documentation prior to receiving the prize.

9. Publicity Release

By entering the contest, participants grant Race Place permission to use their:

  • Name
  • Likeness
  • Photograph
  • Submitted images
  • Biographical information

for promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

10. Liability Release

By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless:

Race Place, Inc., its officers, employees, affiliates, partners, and representatives

from any liability, loss, or damage arising from participation in the contest or acceptance and use of any prize.

11. Compliance with Laws

This contest is governed by applicable United States federal law and the laws of the State of Oregon.

Any disputes arising from the contest shall be governed by Oregon law, and participants agree that jurisdiction and venue shall be in the appropriate courts located in the State of Oregon.

12. Contest Modification or Cancellation

Race Place reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if technical issues, fraud, or other circumstances beyond its control compromise the integrity of the contest.

13. Acceptance of Terms

Submission of an entry through the official online form constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
