Conform to FIS Label

Helmet regulation (2014/15), that requires "Conforms to FIS" label is applicable at all levels without exception for GS, SG and DH. All helmets that meet this regulation in our store are labeled "FIS" for your convenience. Download the current SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALPINE COMPETITION EQUIPMENT and the USSA Helmet Rule for full details.

Selecting your proper helmet size:

Measure your head circumference one inch above the eyebrows around to the largest point on the back of your head. Round up to the larger size when your measurement is between two sizes.

21 1/4 54
21 5/8 55

Helmet Fit Check:

  • Your helmet should fit snugly and square on your head. Make sure that it is not tilted too far back or forward on your head.
  • Cheek pads touch, but do not press uncomfortably.
  • Make sure there are no gaps around your temples, brow or back of the neck
  • With the straps securely fastened, shake your head slightly from side to side and back and forth. If it moves or feels loose, then it is too big. (Also remember that the comfort liner will compress a little with use, so a new helmet should fit as tight as you can comfortably wear.)
  • Again with the straps fastened, try to roll the helmet forward off your head. If you can get it off, it is too big.
  • Feel for any pressure spots. Check for any soreness or red spots after you remove the helmet. If you find any, try the next size up or a different model. All brands fit a little different, so try on multiple styles for the best fit.

Description & Features

This is the new benchmark for racing helmets. A strong, durable shell in a streamlined, aerodynamic design that's also extremely light and incredibly safe. This helmet is suitable for all alpine competitions, as it has a speed mode with acoustic adapters as well as a gate mode, where the adapters can be exchanged to mount a chin guard for technical disciplines. By adding MIPS, an additional low-friction layer is integrated into the helmet, which is designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain in the case of angled impacts.

Features

  • FIS Conforming for GS/SG/DH
  • MIPS Technology
  • ABS External Shell
  • Dual Density EPS Core
  • Microfleece Beanie Liner
  • Thermal Ventilation
  • Metal Chinstrap Buckle
  • Changeable Adapter Plates
  • SL Chin Guard Compatible

Technical Info

MIPS Technology

The MIPS Brain Protection System is a helmet-integrated, low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head.

Dual Density EPS Core

This patented core technology is made from EPS with dual densities, which increases the helmet's performance to pass the FIS RH 2013 standard.

Microfleece Beanie Liner

The soft microfleece material of the Beanie Liner adapts perfectly to the head and thus avoids any bruises and the unpleasant entering of cold air. Molded-in mesh zones let heat and moisture escape to the outside and, together with the ventilation system, ensure a pleasant head climate.

Thermal Ventilation

Thermal Ventilation is HEAD's automatic ventilation system which leads warm air away from the head to the outside without allowing any cold air to the inside.

Changeable Adapter Plates

Use the flat adapter plates with optimized acoustics for speed disciplines, the chin guard adapter for technical disciplines.
